What materials do Lay Rescuer CPR Instructors need for each class?

As an instructor, utilizing the ProTrainings Instructor Manual is essential, to guide you through the curriculum and training process involved in each course, It provides other valuable information, such as the length of time that you should schedule for each class, the equipment requirements, documents needed for each course, and other training tools you'll need.

You can click here to learn how to access the instructor training materials, like your Instructor manual, training videos, and other teaching aids through your instructor dashboard under the "instructor documents" icon at no cost. The equipment needed for conducting the demonstration/skills practice portion of the course is the responsibility of each instructor. If you need to purchase equipment or order any pre-printed instructor materials go to our online store

Below is a list of materials that Lay Rescuer Instructors need to teach.

Durable Manikin equipment & training supplies :

  • Adult Manikins with inflatable lungs *(an adult manikin is used for child skills)
  • Infant Manikins with inflatable lungs
  • Proper disinfectant or replaceable lung/face-shield system for each student
  • AED trainers with infant and adult pads
  • First Aid Supplies: Roller Gauze, 4x4 Gauze, tourniquet, and any other needed first-aid supplies

Teaching materials & curriculum :

  • Instructor Manual to guide you through the classroom training steps
  • Copy of Skill Scenario Sheets for each student
  • Skills Evaluation Checklist
  • Written test and answer sheet for each student
  • Student Manual (provided to students prior to class)
  • Instructor training videos (streamed or downloaded)

ProTrainings requires that CPR Instructors have a minimum of 1 set of manikins/equipment for every 3 students. For example, in a ProFirstAid class of 12 students, an instructor must have a minimum of 4 adult manikins, 4 infant manikins, 4 AED trainers, and first aid supplies. It is ideal to have 1 set of equipment for each student to have the most efficient use of time for skill practice and evaluation. When sharing manikins, you will need to replace lungs/face shields and disinfect the manikins between each student's use.
