Are written tests required when teaching a class?
We require each student to complete a written test prior to certification and prior to their hands-on testing. Many states and organizations require a written test so we do not allow students skipping the test as an option.
If you were an instructor with ARC or AHA before working with us, you may not have done written tests for your students in the past, but you should know that the ARC still requires a written test to be passed with 80% or better for all of the CPR and First Aid certification courses. Regarding AHA Classes, it is only allowed to skip the written testing portion for the AHA Heartsaver courses, not the others.
Hope that helps!
