How to get NASM-Approved CPR training

NASM-Approved CPR training

We are so excited that you located our courses here at ProTrainings!  We are an accepted provider for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Board of Certification.  

You will need to complete both the ProCPR Basic online course and the hands-on skill evaluation we offer with our SUMO kit option. 

Update: 

As of May 11th, 2020, NASM is temporarily accepting 100% online-only certifications due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We recommend that NASM trainers still use our Blended course (online + hands-on), for the best quality of learning and wider acceptance. In the future, NASM will require hands-on CPR, and meanwhile, employers may require hands-on training, even if NASM doesn't.  If you have any questions about choosing the right course, please contact us.

Create an account:

To create an account as part of NASM you can sign up here- https://www.protrainings.com/signup/nasm.

Enter your first name, last name, and email address.  Then enter a username and a password of your choice.  Click the red Begin Training button to create your account and proceed to your training.

Note:  If you have an existing ProTraining account you can log in here.  If you need to reset your password to access the account you can do so here.

Access the online course: 

Once you have created an account you will be directed to your Training Dashboard where you will see the ProCPR Basic online portion of the course. Click the blue Begin button when you are ready to get started. 

You can jump straight to the test by clicking the Begin Test option under Step 2 (if available), or by clicking the start the test now link below the training videos as shown below. 

Note:  You may start/stop the training and the test at any time while logged into your account.  Your progress will be saved and you can pick up where you left off at your convenience!  You also have unlimited testing attempts to get a passing score of 80% or higher on the online testing portion.

Schedule your skill evaluation & process your payment (online course + SUMO kit): 

Once you have passed the online course with 80% or higher, you will be asked to schedule your skill evaluation.  

To schedule your skill evaluation, select an available date shown in blue on the calendar.  If multiple time slots are available on the date you selected you can choose which time you prefer by clicking on the drop-down box next to Selected Time.  Click on the Confirm Date button to proceed to the checkout.  This will add the SUMO kit to your cart for you. 

Note:  SUMO kits are typically delivered within   3-5  business days  from the date of purchase.  Please keep this in mind when selecting a day/time as you will need your kit in order to do your evaluation. 

From here you can proceed with the checkout process.  Your cart will show the ProCPR Basic certificate ($39.95) and the SUMO Kit: Adult ($54.95) with a cart subtotal of $94.90 (or any additional items you wish to purchase and their corresponding prices). Click the green Proceed to Checkout button to enter in your shipping address (must be a physical street address- no PO Boxes), billing address, and payment information.

How to add hands-on if you've gone past PreCheckout Step 3

If you've already gone past PreCheckout Step 3 and processed your payment for the online course only, you can add the hands-on skill evaluation option via our SUMO manikin kit from your Training Dashboard.

Find your course on your Training Dashboard, click on the three dots and then select Convert to Blended Program.

This will take you through the process of scheduling your skill evaluation and adding the SUMO kit to your cart as shown above in PreCheckout Step 3.

Follow the same steps listed in the Schedule your skill evaluation and process your payment (online course + SUMO kit): section above for more information on how to schedule your evaluation and purchase your SUMO kit.

Attending your virtual skill evaluation

Once you have selected a day/time for your skill evaluation and processed your payment (online course + SUMO Kit) you will receive a Confirmation Email to the email address on your account.  Within this email will be a link to test your audio/video on Zoom beforehand (zoom.us/test).  

Joining your skill evaluation- We recommend joining your skill evaluation from your ProTrainings Training Dashboard.  Within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time, a Start Skill Evaluation Now button will appear as shown below.  Simply click the Start Skill Evaluation Now button as this will take you into the Zoom meeting with the Instructor.  

(If you do not see the Start Skill Evaluation Now button appear within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time please refresh your page and it should appear for you)

Note: If you are experiencing any difficulties joining your evaluation please call us right away at ph: 616-855-2500. The instructor will close the class 5-10 minutes after the scheduled start time so we will need to work quickly to help you join in.

Accessing your Blended certification card

Once you have completed both the online portion and the hands-on skill evaluation for the ProCPR Basic course you will be able to access your full certification.  

Shortly after your skill evaluation, the instructor will mark you as completed which will automatically send you an email with a copy of your certification attached. You can download/print your certification from the email or from your account at any time while it is valid.

To print from your account click on the blue Print or Download button under your course on your Training Dashboard.  

This will bring up your printing option where you can select Print Blended Certificate or Print Wall Mount Certificate.
