Employers, agencies, state boards, etc may need to verify a certification upon receipt to ensure its validity. Below are ways to verify and validate a ProTrainings certification.
Unfamiliar with ProTrainings? View our Employer Letter for more information about the guidelines we follow, our acceptances, and the programs we offer.
1- Scanning the QR code
By scanning the QR code on the certificate and being directed to the ProTrainings website you can verify the name on the certificate, course content, and certification dates match the certificate ensuring its a valid ProTrainings certification.
For more detailed information and steps on how to scan the QR code, check out our Scanning the QR code on your certificate article.
2- Validate A Certificate tool the ProTrainings website
You can also validate a ProTrainings certification here by entering the certificate number you wish to validate. This will ONLY validate a ProTrainings-issued certificate; we have no way to verify the certificates issued by other companies.
3- Contact Customer Support
If you have any additional questions or would like to verify the certificate directly with us please contact our Customer Support team. Customer Support is able to answer any questions about the course content, online versus blended (online + hands-on), and even provide additional copies of the certificate and course documents upon request.
How to Verify Online Only, Blended (online + hands-on), Blended Plus, & Classroom Certifications
Each course is available as either 100% online renewal (cognitive only), as an accredited Blended (online + hands-on) certification which includes a practical hands-on skills assessment with one of our certified instructors, or as a classroom course which includes the cognitive and practical hands-on skill assessment with one of our certified instructors.
Online Only:
An Online Only certificate will state that the student has completed the national cognitive portion of the test, and will also have just the name of the instructor printed on the backside of the certificate.
On an Online Only card, the Instructor will always be listed as Roy Shaw.
Blended (online + hands-on):
A Blended certificate will state that the student has completed both the national cognitive and skills evaluation (in the text below the date issued and renew by date).
On the backside of the card, the names for both the Instructor and Skill Evaluator will appear. The Instructor will always be listed as Roy Shaw and the Skill Evaluator's name will be added as a second line. After the Skill Evaluator marks the hands-on portion as complete, a digital signature is printed on the back of the card on the “Skill Evaluator” line.
Skill Evaluators can also choose to add a skill evaluation “method” to the card, which will appear below the Evaluator’s name and phone number. This is to help indicate on the certification card whether the hands-on skill evaluation was “live”, either with an instructor in-person or remote on a video call. See examples below for how this is indicated on the certification card.
Live, In-Person Evaluation
Live, Remote Evaluation
No Selection- Contact Info Only
Blended Plus:
Beginning in October of 2020, Blended (online + hands-on) cards resulting from a session that we, ProTrainings, managed and scheduled will be described as "Blended Plus".
The “Plus” signifies that ProTrainings is verifying how and when the evaluation happened instead of a Skill Evaluator verifying the evaluation method. This will be indicated on the certification card by the "Blended Plus" in the red banner at the top front side of the card and by the "Verified Live Evaluation" below the Skill Evaluator's information on the back of the card.

Classroom:
A Classroom certificate will state that the student has completed both the national cognitive and skills evaluation (in the text below the date issued and renew by date). On the backside of the card, the name of the instructor will appear.
