When you forget to add a student (and the class already has all of the students marked completed), you have two options:
(a) Recreate the same class over again with the same information, add the student and just mark this one student completed by following the normal class creation steps, or
(b) Duplicate your current class. (I do not recommend this option if it is a large class with many students).
Here are the steps to duplicate a class and add in that missed student:
- Go into your Instructor Dashboard
- Classroom Center > Manage Classrooms
- Click on the class you want to duplicate.
- You should now see your class name at the top and the students connected to that class.
- At the top, click on the "duplicate class" icon to copy the entire class (when you do this, all the students that are in it will stay connected as well)
- Remove the previous students (already marked completed) by clicking on the red "X". (This will only remove them from the class, not your records).
- Add your missing student(s) to the class
- Click on the "pencil" icon near the new class copy to change any necessary course, date, info, and then click on "update class".
- Then mark the student completed as normal. (NOTE: if there are a lot of students in this class to remove, it may be easier to do option (a) above).
Hope this helps!
